Throwback Thursday: Sunset in World Golf Village

Originally posted, July 24, 2009.  When we lived in Florida, St. Augustine was one of our favorite get-a-way spots.  St. Augustine is a beautiful old city full of history, funky cool shops and of course the beach.

I really love the contrast between the colors of the sky and the silhouette of the trees.

Throwback Thursday: Wakulla River Boat Tour

Originally posted Nov 29th, 2012.   I took this photo on the Wakulla River in Florida. We stayed at the The Lodge at Wakulla Springs located in Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park.  Built in 1930’s the Lodge features 27 rooms uniquely decorated for the time period. The historic lodge is well-maintained and includes a full-service restaurant as well as breath-taking views.  It is a great get away from things.  Cell phone service was spotty. WiFi and TV were available in the lobby. The TV only had DVD or VHS movies of movies filmed at the lodge and springs.

Throwback Thursday: Sunset Over 7 Mile Bridge

From September 27, 2012.

7 Mile Bridge

Took this on our trip to the Florida Keys.   One of the highlights of the trip was a sunset cruise. This is a famous Seven Mile Bridge located just outside of Marathon, Florida. The original Seven Mile Bridge was built by Henry Flagler as a part of his Florida East Coast Railway. It would later become part of the Overseas Highway.
