A couple of weeks ago I fractured my ankle. I am rather accident prone. Usually I find odd ways to get hurt; like the time I got a black eye on the Rocking Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studio. This time was different. I was just doing boring everyday stuff rolled my ankle and fractured it. See it was the mundane that sidetracked me. The same thing can happen in my spiritual life. It isn’t big things that trip me up but rather daily things. A busy life causes me to forget to pray or skip daily Bible reading time. Before I realize it things have changed. My focus has changed from God to self.
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)
