This week I got Corel PaintShop Pro Ultimate X2. PSP has sure come a long way since I first started using JASC PSP 4. It has evolved from an easy-to-use but sometimes amateurish alternative to Photoshop into a quality package. In the early days, one of PSP’s greatest strengths was its value. For $50 it was the best program out there. With some work, it was possible to get results that rivaled Photoshop. Since Corel bought out JASC, the quality has gone up. It does cost more than $50, and I miss the days of $45 upgrades for those who had versions 4 and earlier. I have been pleased with all the extras that have now been included with PSP. Today I decided to play with Corel Painter.
