“Hope is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God.”

Timothy Keller

For a Christian, hope is far more than mere wishes or colorful rainbows. It is not a fragile optimism based on our circumstances, but a conviction deeply rooted in the character and very existence of God.

Scripture tells us in Hebrews 6:19 that we have this hope as “an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” This anchor is most vital during our most uncertain seasons. True hope does not depend on our ability to see the path ahead; rather, it rests entirely in the person of God.

Because His nature is unchanging, we can trust the promise found in Hebrews 13:5 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” This nearness is what allows us to remain steady when the world feels unstable. It is the quiet, unwavering certainty that even in the midst of trouble, we are never alone.
