News WKBT Anchor Jennifer Livingston takes on a comment from a viewer. Actually, she takes the guy down on her news show. Livingston also uses it as springboard to promote the National Anti-Bullying Month and encourage viewers.
As someone who was bullied unmercifully from 4th grade until I graduate from high school I’m glad that bullying is finally being taken seriously. Adults helped create a culture that in the very least ignored bullying. In many instances the victim not the spineless bullies were punished. There seemed to be an attitude that it was just words and it was something all kids had to deal with so get over. The truth is that bullying is a serious problem that can cause lasting hurt and pain for the victims. Children and teens are especially vulnerable. It is time to stop the pain, stop the silence and most importantly stop the bullying.
