Harold Camping has made a lot of headlines recently with his prediction that the world will end today. Even claims that it will start at 6 pm in each local time zone. Camping says that he discovered the date and time of Christ’s return from the Bible. Apparently he got this message from some sort of hidden message in the Bible.
I get very suspicious of those who claim to have found a secret or hidden message in the Bible. I believe the Bible clearly says what it means. Matthew 24 contains an account of Christ’s teachings on the end times. I believe that verse 36 applies to this situation.
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (Matthew 24:36, New International Version)
