WordPress

One of the new features WordPress has introduced is Possibly Related articles. At the end of each post WordPress includes a list of other posts that the reader might find interesting. Any related post from the same blog are at the top of the list in bold. Supposedly, this will increase traffic on all blogs. It is possible to disable this feature.

I am going to give it a try and see what I think about it. I have found some blogs through the link that I would prefer not to be linked to my. If I disable the feature my blog will not be in the links. So, I am going to keep it for now. Here is my disclaimer: I do not endorse any of the possibly related articles linked to other blogs.

If you have tried this feature out let me know what you think.

  1. I thought about leaving that up there on mine…but someone had written a post about how it can pull in a lot of trolls…and I don’t really care enough for readership to invite someone to troll my blog because I happen to vent or rant on something they like. Every now and again I get a new person there…but if I never get another reader…that is fine with me. Not like I talk about a lot anyway. šŸ˜›

Keep me updated on what you think about it as well!

  2. I have had a few people leave nasty comments…but all my comments are moderated so I just delete them and don’t give them the time of day. I guess that is why I don’t have much of an issue at the moment.

  3. Mine are set to moderated for the 1st time someone comments. That is by name and not just email address. The Big Guy thought he would be funny used a bunch of alias once. I had to moderate them all.

The cyberstalker started at another site. She was very nasty and her husband got into it. He begin attacking me personally even when he was responding to comments by other people. She came here after I refused to respond to him any more.

  4. It amazes me how much free time people have to troll and stalk people online just for the sake of being mean. I don’t know about you but I have better things to do with my time than that crap. I just usually feel sorry for them that they are so miserable that they can’t do anything but post hateful messages.

  5. I’m not sure what I think about that new feature. On the one hand it could be a good thing; but on the other hand, so far I’ve seen a lot of posts listed which were not even remotely related to what I had written.
