Today’s top 10 is in honor of Sesame Street’s 40th birthday. As a child we would watch Sesame Street right before watching my dad on the evening news. Sesame Street and later School House Rock contributed greatly to my education. Today’s list is a combination of favorites and things I learned from Sesame stree.
#10: Today’s list is brought to you by the letter B and the number 40th.
#9: The counting video segments with the numbers counting backwards.
#8: Cookie Monster
#7: Diversity is a good thing.
#6: Cooperation is a good thing. There was a song about cooperation.
#5: Mr. Hooper
#4: Big Bird
#3: Shy Aloysius Snuffleupagus was always one of my favorite characters.
#2: Not everyone’s neighborhood looked like mine.
#1: It’s Not Easy Being Green preformed by Kermit

We actually watched an episode of School House Rock as part of a college English grammar course for those taking more than one year of foreign language classes (most of us were studying Russian). It was about the parts of speech.
In college I we used School House Rock videos in a tutoring program. It was a good way to get information across to older students.
