Leviticus 16 outlines a day set aside to atone for offenses against God, requiring humans to first restore their relationships with one another. Under the New Covenant, Hebrews 7:27 reminds us that Jesus made the ultimate atonement for our sins—allowing us to approach God directly without an earthly priest. Yet, it is easy for us to become flippant about our offenses, forgetting the immense cost of our redemption. Romans 5:6–11 shows us the depth of God's grace: while we were still estranged in our selfishness, Christ willingly paid the price. Yom Kippur is a wonderful opportunity to stop, reflect on His redemptive work on the cross, and emphasize His amazing grace in our lives.
Goodness of God
Stop letting your "mess" stand in the way of God's mercy. We can live a life surrounded by His grace, mercy, and goodness when we step into the abundance He has already prepared for us.
