Change is inevitable. No matter how much I want things to stay the same change happens. Sometimes it is good and other times not so much. Some change is planned for anticipated. Other times change is unexpected or is forced upon me. That is when I really struggle.

Learning to handle change is necessary to survive. Like for many people the past couple of years have been about surviving and coping with a new “normal”. It is just draining.

God wants us to go thrive not survive. He wants us to live a full or abundant life. A life that is overflowing with grace.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 10:10

Abundant life doesn’t mean that there won’t be hard times or you will be rich. It also doesn’t mean that you will get everything you want either. I have an herb garden. For the herbs to grow well it is necessary to trim the tops regularly. Not doing that will actually hinder the grow. This summer with little rain and extreme heat my garden was looking sad at the end of August. After the recent rains it is starting to grow back even strong. Just like my garden sometimes we need a little trim to grow. Other times life just happens. In those times it is important to keep our focus on God. He sees the big picture that we can’t. Keep you eyes on Him. — Dee

  1. Dee, your posts are always thought provoking and often testify of God. Your thoughts about change and how to grow and thrive is so true! I read it right after I listened to a wonderful original song written and sung by Kodi Lee and his team. I am so impressed by him. He is blind and autistic, but is a wonderful performer with a great personality. He was the winner of America’s Got Talent a few years ago. He truly is one who has learned to thrive and grow (with much help from his mother).
This is the link to Kodi Lee’s song “Miracle” which is about changes in our lives, but every day is a miracle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1DKq6tLADo
