Last weekend The Big Guy took a drive the The Hill Country looking for wild flowers. Did not see many blue bonnets. We did see a lot of Indian Blankets.

Gailardia pulchella or commonly known as Indian Blankets or Firewheels are grow in the Southwest United States. They are able to toerate heat and dryness which helps make them a common along roadsides. Indian Blankets may be my second favorite to Blue Bonnets. I really enjoy seeing them intersperesed with Blue Bonnets.
