The original St. Augustine Lighthouse was a converted Spanish tower. A brick tower was built in 1824. The current lighthouse was completed in 1874 and remained in operation through at least the 1980s. I cannot remember the when it was decommissioned and could not find the date on line

I love the striping along this lighthouse.. very unique!! We just don’t have them along the mountains, of course, but I would do anything to see them… they are awesome!

Isnt it beautiful? We went to St Augustine for our vacation this year and loved it. Of course the Lighthouse was on our to do list. Such great history!!

This is beautiful – nice set of photos & the view is spectacular.
I visited our lighthouse last month for the 1st time. It was an overcast day, so the photos weren’t very intersting – but the visit to the top was super.
