It's Saturday but Sunday is coming.
Jesus came as a man on a mission. He came to redeem a broken and fallen world. He stepped into human weakness, suffering, and sin, not to condemn it, but to rescue it. Even His own people struggled to recognize Him because He did not match their expectations or fit their standards. God’s ways have always been higher than ours.
In an ordinary room with ordinary people, Jesus showed extraordinary love. The basin and the towel still invite us to kneel, serve, and love well.
Luke describes Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem with incredible contrast. The crowd’s attitude on Sunday is very different from what it will be on Friday. On Sunday, Jesus is welcomed with praise, celebration, and honor. Cloaks are laid on the road. Voices are lifted in worship.
Sin is not a popular topic in our culture. It is uncomfortable, often dismissed, and sometimes softened to feel less serious. Scripture is clear about the reality of sin:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
