I am using an alternate theme: drink. I didn’t like the official one.
Over the past 10 months, I have lost over 50 pounds, and I’ve learned firsthand that diets really work—provided you actually stick to them. Due to existing food allergies, my food choices were already severely limited, and traditional diets often feel like they just take away even more of what is safely on my plate. Research consistently indicates that diets only work if you are able to follow them sustainably over the long haul. Instead of attempting a drastic, all-or-nothing overhaul, I decided to focus on making one small, manageable lifestyle change each month.
Currently, my focus is on reducing my daily soda intake, and switching to sparkling water has been a massive help in that department. To keep from feeling deprived, I still allow myself the grace of one soda if I truly want it, but I’ve found that most days I don’t even reach for it anymore. By stacking these small, consistent habits over time rather than stressing over perfection, the weight has steadily come off. It turns out that sustainable health isn’t about rigid deprivation—it’s about finding healthier swaps that you can actually live with day in and day out.
