ITop 10t is has been a while since I posted a Top 10 list. Just could not come up with a good one. I was inspired to write this one by a bowl of mango sherbert.

#10: Pink Things: Ok, I haven’t had one of these in years but I really loved them as a kid. We would get them every year at Six Flags.

#9: Slurpee: I don’t even know where to find now but I drank a lot as a kid. I really liked to mix Coke & cherry.

#8: Popsicles: My favs are cherry or banana.  Did you ever make the kind with Kool-aid as a kid? I always thought that was so much fun.

#7: Frozen Fruit Bars: Can’t remember the name but I really like the kind the guys sell from those little push carts. It is a Mexican frozen treat, very good. Coconut and banana are my favs.

#6: Strawberries: This would rate higher if I hadn’t developed an allergy to strawberries. My mom used to make a very good strawberry pie. I’m sure it is still good but I can’t eat it.

#5: Peaches and Cream: Ate a lot of this as a kid. One of my grandmothers used to use real whipped cream and it was my favorite.  I didn’t like it when I was served the kind with milk, it seemed like I had been cheated somehow. It is peaches and cream not peaches and milk.

#4: Ice Cream: Ok, I think ice cream is just a year round treat but it fits summer as well. My favorite flavor would be peppermint or Blue Bell Banana Pudding

#3: Snow Cones or Shaved Ice. I guess cherry or pina colada would be my favorite flavors. It is disappointing that we live in a town with no snow cone stands. When I was home this past weekend I was disappointed to find that many of the snow cone stands were either gone or had become taco stands. As much as I am a fan of taco stands I just wanted a snow cone.

#2: Watermelon. Yellow watermelons are my favorite variety. As much as I like watermelon I can’t stand out of season watermelon. It just doesn’t taste the same.

#1: Homemade ice cream. Ok, I really like just about any kind of ice cream except that nasty 31 Flavors stuff. My favorite would be homemade. My mom used to make a really good chocolate ice cream when I was a kid.

Well, if you decide to post your own list let me know.

  1. Homemade ice cream is by far one of the greatest things on earth. My best friend’s dad makes a homemade lemon ice cream. First time he told me this, I was disgusted. But it is the best I’ve ever had. Last time he made it, I ate three bowls in one sitting. I’ve known this guy since the sixth grade, and his dad still won’t give me his recipe though. But, I’ll concur, homemade ice cream rocks.

  2. Thanks for your comment on my Skywatch pictures. I tried to come here through your blogger web page link, but there’s a typo in it that takes me to a span site. The D is missing–it says deezone.worpress.com. Just wanted to tell you so you can fix it before you miss out on visitors!

  4. I remember Pink Things, we use to get them at Six Flags over Texas and there was a little animal at the end of the pink plastic stick. Cherry Ice similar to Luigi’s frozen italian ice.
