#1 Star Wars 4: A New Hope
This may be my all-time favorite movie. It was the first PG movie I was allowed to see. It earned the PG rating because of a couple of curse words hidden in a battle scene. At the time only G-rated movies were considered kids’ movies. I think it was also one of the movies that caused the shift for PG movies being used for kids movies.
In this epic fairy tale set in the distant future in a galaxy far away. A farm boy discovers his destiny while joining a rebellion against a ruthless empire. Guided by mentors, friendship, and courage, he learns that hope can rise even in the darkest times. — D
