This has been bouncing around in my head all day and I’ve just haven’t gotten around to writing. Actually, I started thinking about it a couple of days ago. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Normally, I enjoy decorating for Christmas. A couple of months ago the Big Guy and I moved from Florida to Texas. Things have been busy and we still have boxes in part of the living room and one of the bedrooms. Last week as I was prepping for Thanksgiving and trying to figure out where to put the Christmas decorations it was obvious a lot of the clutter had to go to make room for the Christmas things. What seemed like a gigantic mess with a little bit of work was quickly organized to make room for the Christmas things.
As we prepare for Christmas, it is easy to get caught up in all of the shopping, cooking, decorating and other activities and leave out the real reason for Christmas. This Christmas take time to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. Focus on the important things and not all of the stuff. Maybe this means doing less or changing priorities.
Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe after all we’ve projected
A child in a mangerLowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mothers shawl
Just a child
Is this who we’ve waited for?Cause how many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?Bringing our gifts for the newborn savior
All that we have whether costly or meek
Because we believe
Gold for his honor and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he’ll suffer
Do you believe, is this who we’ve waited for?
It’s who we’ve waited forHow many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only one did that for meAll for me
All for you
All for me
All for youHow many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only one did that for meAll for me
All for you
