Keeping with this year’s theme: Make a Difference I will be devoting more blog time to ways that impact the lives of others. The recent events have provided many ways to make a difference. Last week circumstances preventing me from blogging but I hope to be able to post more this week. So I guess I’m a little behind on this one.

I read somewhere that is is actually better to give money and not items only because it costs a lot of money to ship the items and get them to the people…with money they can buy in bulk and buy more than what you can send. For what you spend on one item they can get 5 or so of the same item in bulk if you send the equivalent in cash. Something to think about when giving for stuff like this. For every can of formula that you buy for them, they could probably buy three times as many or more if you just send the $20.

Normally that is true. However Real Hope for Haiti is collecting things at a warehouse in the US. Usually they take cash donations. However, I think that when they have a group going in to work with the clinics they do bring in supplies.
