Jesus came as a man on a mission. He came to redeem a broken and fallen world. He stepped into human weakness, suffering, and sin, not to condemn it, but to rescue it. Even His own people struggled to recognize Him because He did not match their expectations or fit their standards. God’s ways have always been higher than ours.
Jesus is the Precious Lamb of God, the Holy One, the Savior who willingly gave His life so that we could be restored. Redemption was never cheap. It was purchased with love, obedience, and sacrifice. Job’s declaration still echoes with hope and confidence:
For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
Job 19:25
On Maundy Thursday, we remember the night Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples, washed their feet, and prepared to give everything for humanity. He knew the cross was coming, yet He chose love over self-preservation, obedience over comfort, and sacrifice over escape.
My heart rests in this truth: my Redeemer lives. He is faithful. He is present. He is working, even when the road feels uncertain or uncomfortable. Because of Jesus, hope is never lost, and redemption is always possible.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to redeem a broken world and for loving us beyond measure. Help me trust Your ways, even when I do not fully understand them. Teach me to walk in gratitude, humility, and faithful obedience as I remember Your sacrifice. Amen.
There is A Redeemer
By Keith & Melody Green
There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God’s own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,
Jesus my redeemer,
Name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Oh, for sinners slain.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
When I stand in Glory,
I will see His face,
And there I’ll serve my King forever,
In that Holy Place.
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
There is a redeemer,
Jesus, God’s own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,
Thank you oh my father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Til the work on Earth is done.
And leaving Your Spirit,
‘Till the work on Earth is done.
