According to my site stats my posts about unusual team mascots are among the more popular ones.

#10 Camas High School Papermakers (WA): Papermakers is an homage to the town’s history of being a mill town.

#9 Jordan High School Beetdiggers (UT): The name comes from the large beet fields that used to surround the school.

#8 Tillamook High School (OR) Cheesemakers. Appropriate name for a town famous for Cheese.

#7 Fisher High School Bunnies (IL): While a bunny isn’t very intimating that mascot is.

#6 Williamsport Area High School (PA): The name is a tribute to the town’s history of the “Lumber Capital of the World”. In the 19th century, the town had more millionaires per capita.

#5 Brazosport High School Exporters (TX): Located in the coastal city of Freeport, Texas the name is a logical choice.

#4 Dexter High School Dreadnaughts (MI): The mascot was selected by students in 1942 to honor the town’s support and contributions to World Wars I & II.

#3 Yuba City High School Honkers (CA): Once one of the largest schools in Northern California before the school was divided in the early 2000’s. Their name comes from the Canadian geese that migrate through the area.

#2 Robstown Early College High School (TX) Cotton Pickers: To outsiders Robstown mascot seems inappropriate or even racist. The largely Hispanic population of Robstown it is a tribute to their agricultural heritage. Prior to the 1950’s, cotton was the largest crop.

#1 Winters ISD Blizzards (TX): Like many smaller school districts in Texas, all schools share the same mascot. Most towns have just one high school, middle school, and elementary. The smallest school district, like Winters often have a combined middle and high school My dad attended school there for a few years. I have always found the mascot funny.
