marabianHome cook Melissa d’Arabian won season 5 of the Next Food Network Star.  Melissa a former business woman is a stay-at-home mother of 4 from Kellar, Texas. Melissa’s show Kitchen Survival will premiere Sunday August 9th.

This is the first time a non-professional has won. In the past it has seemed that the one or two home cooks where there just to appease fans.  Melissa got off to a rocky star but showed the most progress.  She actually listened to the judges criticism and took corrective actions.  I am looking forward to seeing her show. Oh, I plan to try her 4-step chicken sometime this week.
