The Big Guy, Me, Michael W. Smith

Gee, what to say? Well, not to bore you with all the details. So here are few random facts about me. I enjoy spending time with my husband. My favorite drink is Dr. Pepper preferably the kind bottled in Dublin, TX. San Augustine, FL and Vancouver, BC are two of the coolest places I have visited. As a child I had a pet cow named Mrs. Darling and dogs named Polly, Patrice, Bouncer and Duchess.

I enjoy listening to music, cooking, photography and spending time with the Big Guy.  My favorite bands are Third Day and U2. The picture on the left was taken at one of the many concerts I have attended.  You can learn more about me by reading my blog.

In 2006, I was invited to become the editor of HomeschoolBenefits.org and discovered I actually enjoyed writing. Growing up I never enjoyed writing and would do anything to get out of writing assignments in school. I have dyslexia and dysgraphia. Dysgraphia is a form of dyslexia that affects fine motors skills and the ability to write legibly. It was the actual process of transmitting ideas to paper that made writing so painful. Thanks to several elementary school teachers that ignored my learning disability and punished me for poor handwriting by the time I reached middle school I hated both school and writing. You can check out more of my writing on HomeschoolBenefits.org

    Hey Dee,

Yes, I did have Dr. Rainey for Greek and other classes. I’m grateful to have had him as a spiritual marker in my life.

I had a great university experience at HPU. I was on staff at Lake Brownwood Baptist Church, the Baptist Encampment and then at Eastside Baptist in Comanche. My current church is sponsoring a church plant in Blanket at this time.

    Hi,

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.

I see ADHD in the headline and that made me think about my friend who is doing a “Myth Busters” for ADD.

    http://blog.neatandsimple.com/2008/02/how-i-survived.html

She is doing almost like a blog carnival about it.

Let me know if you want more information.

or I can e-mail it to you.

Btw, I’ve added you on my Blogroll list.

    cheers, rani.

Is there a place to talk to you about homeschooling?

  7. TheDeeZone says:

HSB doesn’t have a way for comments yet. Hopefully that can be added. However, I’m starting to add something here for HSB Post so comments can be left. However you do have my email from my comments.

  8. sarcasticredheadedgeek says:

I do? Hmmm let me go investigate that…

  9. TheDeeZone says:

    Glad you found it.

Hey Dee, I had to check out your site…We have much in common. I homeschooled three kids for 17 years and loved it. I have taught a lot of dyslexic children to play piano. My son is dyslexic. I adore Dr. Pepper. Never had a pet cow, though. Way too big for me. LOL.

  11. TheDeeZone says:

Obviously the cow didn’t live in FW but at my grandparents. More things in commons are you a Texan & a Baptist as well?

  12. ponnvandu says:

Thanks for dropping by. I enjoyed your comment and have responded, hopefully clarifying matters a bit. I totally resonate on handwriting struggles and nasty teachers, and similarly have been freed by the keyboard to actually discover that I love to write, now even in longhand – tho still messily…

  13. TheDeeZone says:

    Ponnvandu,

Went back to your blog. Be sure to check out more of my stuff on learning.

    • TheDeeZone says:

Kathleen, I really don’t take guest posts. I’ve had a couple from my mom or my husband but that is about it. Have you considered starting your own blog with WordPress? It could be an on-line portfolio.

  33. The other Dee Zone says:

You have a very cool blog! I just wanted to let you know that I have a Google Plus page with the same name. And get this I searched for myself on Google+ and your blog came up, I clicked on it and… I Found Out I Have a Lot in Common with You! God Bless

  34. Hi Dee, your blog is awesome. I wanted to let you know that I have a Google Plus page with the exact same name. Don’t worry it’s not a page where I talk about bad stuff, I mainly talk about church and school activities. Here’s the real funny part, when I found your blog I noticed we have a lot in common! God Bless!

  35. TheDeeZone says:

I tried to check out your blog but the link you provided is private and I’m not sure I found you on Google+. That is interesting. I’ve had a blog entitled TheDeeZone since about 1996. TheDeeZone has been on several servers: HtComp, Geocities, Angelfire and Blogspot before landing on WordPress. Thanks for stopping by.

  36. TheDeeZone says:

You’re twitter account is protected and posts are not visible. Are you new to blogging? I wasn’t really able to read any posts you mentioned on either Google+ or Twitter. It appears that both are closed or private blogs.

  37. Sorry about that. They are private pages. How about I leave the blogging to you and the “big guy”. I am very new to all this. I never used email until 2 years ago. People who know me would be hard pressed to find a single picture of me on the web. I’m just trying to take it slow, slow, slow…
    Bye now!

  38. Connie Wayne says:
