Gifts

Friday marked be official opening of the biggest retail season of the year. Stores opened in the wee hours of the morning. Shoppers lined up even earlier to in hopes of getting a great deal on that perfect gift. There are some that get so caught in buying stuff that they even resort to violence.  With all of the events and preparations for the holiday it is easy to get caught up in “stuff” of Christmas and forget true meaning of Christmas.  Christmas is about the ultimate gift — God’s gift of eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18 NIV

On this first Sunday of Advent take some time to prepare your heart for Christ’s return.

I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT
by Robert Sterling and Chris Machen
Performed by the Azsua Pacific University Choir and Orchestra featuring Scott Douglas, Loren Smith and Andrew Tablak

I was a seeker for light in a dark world,
I looked for truth but settled for lies.
I had been blinded, I couldn’t see
Till the Star in Bethlehem’s sky opened my eyes.

I have seen the Light shining in the darkness,
Bursting through the shadows, delivering the dawn.
I have seen the Light whose holy name is Jesus,
His kingdom is forever; He reigns on Heaven’s throne!

There in a manger, an innocent baby;
Who could believe He was the One;
I can believe it, I know it’s true;
He changed my life; He is the light; He is God’s Son!

I have seen the Light shining in the darkness,
Bursting through the shadows, delivering the dawn.
I have seen the Light whose holy name is Jesus,
His kingdom is forever; He reigns on Heaven’s throne!

We must tell the world what we`ve seen today in Bethlehem!
He`s the promised King; we bow down and worship Him!
Worship Christ The King!

I have seen the Light shining in the darkness,
Bursting through the shadows, delivering the dawn.
I have seen the Light whose holy name is Jesus,
His kingdom is forever; He reigns on Heaven’s throne!
