Sky Watch Friday: Texas Sky
15September 5, 2008 by TheDeeZone

Taken on a windy summer day. The wind that weekend was between 45-60 mph sustained wind. There was some rain but no real storm.

Mesquite and Shomack trees blowing in the wind. The Mesquites are little bigger than shrubs and have little wind resistance.

I really like these shots. I love the country setting…
Nice shots. Lovely capture of a stormy looking sky.
You have had some strong weather! These are wonderful pictures.
Ellen & Sherry: TY
Sandy: Actually it wasn’t that bad, just rain. No tornadoes.
nice skywatch Friday photos
Lovely stormy looking clouds – do you have a lot of storms in your area?
Tommy V: TY
Randi: It can go months without rain. The picture was taken during tornado season. In the spring time it does rain and there may be tornados most do little damage. We also get hail and sometimes it is very bad. In the winter we might get a little snow usually “winter mix”. Winter mix is a slushy frozen rain/ice thing. The day the picture was taken it was just rain.
Terrific capture of a sky in turmoil. I like it a lot.
Hey, why do I have a frowny face for an avatar?
Dewdrop: TY. The avatar is autogenerated.
I love the lighting and the mood of the first picture. The clouds look full of their own agenda, and it makes a lovely light on the grass and building.
Great pics! I have not visited you recently…I am glad stopped by again!
Louise: TY for stopping by.

Nice pics. So are you in line for Hurricane Ike? That’s one nice thing about Minnesota. No hurricanes. The bad thing. Cold weather. We’ve already had lows in the upper 30′s. have a good week.
Rev. Josh,
No, this was taken in a central Texas far from the coast. Currently, I live in Florida, TS Fay did pass our way. Yeah, I’m not a fan of cold weather either.
